3rd REB MEETING

Minutes of the Meeting of REB, Coordinators of Eastern Chapter of WIPS held on 05.10.2014 at NALCO, Bhubaneswar

 

The 3rd REB meeting was started after the Regional Meet  with warm welcome by  Ms. Amita Saha, President of Eastern Chapter to all REB members present(10 nos.) and coordinators(4). She expressed her gratitude & thanks all for participation in large numbers in the Meet and meeting.  All members congratulated and have given thanks to NALCO management and Ms.Geeta Mahapatra , Coordinator of NALCO as well as EC member of WIPS ER to arrange the REGIONAL MEET 2014 beautifully  and successfully. RFC and REB members of WIPS Eastern region  showed gratitude to NALCO management by showing honor and hand over a memento to GM(HR) of NALCO who was given full support to  make the grand success of REGIONAL MEET. M/S NALCO has sponsored the whole REGIONAL MEET.

 

The agenda of the meeting was as follows:-

·         Discussion on minutes of 2nd REB meeting

·         Discussion on CSR projects for 2014-2016. 

·    Discussion over the points of the minutes of 3rd  CGB

       meeting of WIPS held at Delhi, particularly the

      ensuing Silver Jubilee Celebration of WIPS.

·         Discussion on Action Plan of membership drive.

·         Any other issue with the permission of the chair.

 

1st agenda point:       The minutes of 2nd REB meeting was passed by all members present on that day.

2nd agenda Point:       Discussion was held on CSR projects. Ms. Sanchita Banerjee, Secretary of WIPS ER mentioned that two nos. of proposal were received.

1.      To sponsor learning aids for the children with special needs for the Children of Blooming Dale  Academy

  The same was proposed by Coal India Ltd.

2. Contribution for Women Empowerment Initiatives among Poor: Facilitating Better Access to Legal Literacy and Related Information Networks by Keertika. The proposal Was proposed by INDIAN OIL CORPORATION, KOLKATA.

 3. To provide desk and bench to school for unprivileged children. The proposal was proposed by GRSE.

 

The house was opined that minimum 3 to 4 nos. of EC members (based in Kolkata) including RFC will visit the schools in December 2014 personally to assess three projects. Based on their report the decision will be taken to approve the CSR projects.

 

3rd agenda point:  Secretary informed house regarding the silent points discussed in the 3rd

        CGB (Central Governing Body) meeting which was held on 21st November    

        in Delhi. The decision was taken to arrange Slogan competition and Essay  

       competition in two tiers: 1st organization wise and 2nd Regional basis.

        Based on that the Slogan competition was held before the Regional Meet

       and prize distribution was also carried out organization wise in Regional

       Meet.

 

Secretary requested all REB members and coordinators to give wide publicity for Silver Jubilee NATIONAL MEET which will be held on 12th and 13th February 2015  and to arrange Essay competition in two tiers same like slogan competition. The suggestion has come among the members who were present regarding the topic of essay was “WHAT IS HOLDING WOMAN  BACK?"The same topic was kept for panel discussion in Regional Meet 2014. Ms. Sanchita Banerjee requested all who were present there to give more suggestion regarding the topic. The members opined the earlier topic.  The decision was taken that all REB members and coordinators will be exempted from the participation to essay competition. Award will be given to 1st position from each region during national meet 2015 and the essay will be published in National Meet Souvenir. 

 

Secretary also shared the following information from CGB meeting

1.      CSR projects to be submitted to APEX by 14th January 2015 to get the money (Rs.25000/-) from APEX.

2.      To participate the Best Region Award 10 nos. of criteria to be fulfilled by the region. The detail list of criteria will be published by APEX.

3.      The ID card to be provided to individual WIPS members by Region in free of cost.

4.      Space for arranging the showcase for all four regions individually to be provided by APEX in National Meet 2015 and one competition will be held among four regions.

 

Secretary also requested everybody to send all documents regarding old NEWS letter, old photographs of REB meeting, Photographs of RFC /REB members earlier of Eastern Region.

 

4th Agenda Point: Action has to be initiated regarding membership drive. Secretary requested

Ms. Rekha Singh, EC member to take up the Corporate Membership of   MECON and also individual life membership.

 

Secretary requested all coordinators and also EC members to submit the list of life members comprising name and designation so that ID card can be issued who have not received membership card.

 

The handing over and taking over for administrative documents will be carried out formally by Ex Secretary Ms. Mita Choudhury to Present Secretary Ms. Sanchita Banerjee in next meeting. 

 

The decision has been taken regarding the signatories of the bank for 2014-16 transaction and also the corresponding address for both IOB and UBI . President, Secretary, Treasurer will be the joint signatories and the correspondence address will be the present treasurer’s address.
